We have been on this Bon Qui Qui Tour for 3 weeks now. It’s gone by so fast and I can’t believe it’s almost done. I thought by this time I would be happy to go home but i’m actually going to miss waking up on a tour bus with recycled air that I’ve been sharing with 14 people. We have had the best time performing, bonding, and cheating on our diets with each other but we have definitely had our fair share of mishaps. Our lighting guy dislocated his knee, our guitar player and singer got a cold/flu virus, my husband got laryngitis, We lost our very expensive back drop at one of the venues, our tur bus got stuck in the sand and had to get towed out, I ended up catching a cold which isn’t fun but the craziest situation is that our dancer/creative director Penelope injured her knee during our Tampa show. I saw her limp off the stage and had no idea what was going to happen. Darina and I had to finish the last 3 songs by ourselves while Penelope was rushed to the hospital. As soon as the show was done we started calling dancers who could possibly fill in. This was a big task that we weren’t sure we were going to be able to handle. At this point you can do two things, you can freak out and just let stress take over, or you can say I trust you God and I trust that this will work out. I have learned that stress gets me nowhere. All stress does is make me sick and moody so I decided to trust God and the journey. (well maybe I stressed a little bit because I have a cold now) Luckily the next day we found Bianca from Orlando Florida who came and learned the entire show in 1 day! The fact that she was down for the challenge and that she learned the entire show in one day blows my mind. She’s been doing great and we are lucky to have her. Our dancer Darina who was initially filling in for our old dancer Mauika ended up becoming dance captain to take Bianca under her wing and teach her everything she needed to know. This whole tour has been turned upside down but we are running with it!! We have a few shows left and we are going to give it all we’ve got! What ever you are dealing with I challenge you to trust the journey and just keep marching on! You never know the beauty that will be found in the mess. Each situation is an opportunity to learn something new.
