We just had our 18th Bi-Annual family reunion at Hellyer Park in San Jose, CA. It actually wasn’t the Johnsons, that’s my dad’s side. But I did go to a Johnson family reunion once where there was a sign that said, “Welcome Los Johnsons”. I laughed for 3 days about it. This was actually my mom’s side of the family, The Jimenez family. Here is a brief run down: My great grandpa, Ambrocio Jimenez, married my great grandmother, Felipa Contreras. They had 11 kids (if you think that is a lot wait until the end of this paragraph). One of those kids was my grandma, Rachel. Rachel Married Manuel Castaneda, thus we are the Castaneda branch of the Jimenez tree. After Felipa died at the age of 38 (I don’t think they had medicine back then), Ambrocio re-married Catalina and had 14 more kids! So, basically my grandma is a sibling of 25. Sometimes people joke with a parent who has 4 or 5 kids and they say, “Wow, if you have any more, you’ll have a soccer team”. Well, my great grandpa had 2 soccer teams, including a few substitutes.
Every 2 years about 500 of us “primos” get together and pretend we know each other. We all wear name tags and special shirts to designate which branch of the tree we’re from. This year, the Castaneda branch got creative. We wore a shirt with a mustache on it, and we all wore a fake mustache for the family photo. I don’t understand the mustache craze these days, but we didn’t want it to fade out before we all got a chance to jump on the band wagon. Even my 4 month old baby cousin rocked her mustache with pride. The day starts at 8am with Menudo (of course) or Pozole, for those of us Mexicans who don’t enjoy cow intestines in our soup. Through out the day we get to play tons of games like Bingo, three legged race, water balloon toss, and perhaps sign up for the Horse Shoes tournament. If you’re into exercise things, you can run the race around the lake… pond. Lake/pond, it’s pretty small. You can fish in it, but probably don’t eat the fish. Just throw it back in when you’re done. I’m in charge of the “Talent Show”, also known as “All the kids just pick their favorite song and dance to it” show. It’s so cute to see all the little cousins dancing their hearts out. Some on beat, most of them not, but still super cute. By the end of the day, there is usually a pretty vicious water fight. Everyone goes home sun burned and soaking wet.
I’m pretty lucky to be a part of such an awesome family. I hope this tradition never dies so that when I have kids (just kidding i’m not having kids). So when my sister or brothers have kids, they can enjoy and learn about who we are and where we come from. You know what the say, “A family that plays three legged race together, stays together”, because it’s hard to get your legs untangled from each other.
Damn u sexy! U single?

Anjelah:
You make me laugh so hard! I really think you should sell a shirt in your store that says: I will CUT you! that is by far my favorite line of Bon Qui Qui’s. I would totally buy it. Keep up the good work 🙂
Anjelah,
I just met you at the meet and greet in Alabama. You prayed over me for my recent diagnosis of an immune deficiency. I cannot express how much that meant. My fiance and I have not had a lot of support through this extremely difficult process. To have a complete stranger show me that kind of love is something I have never experienced. You are a wonderful Christian women, who without knowing it, has helped me through the hardest times in my life by keeping me smiling. I am blessed to have had the chance to meet you and pray with you. Thank you for your love and support. I hope I can keep you informed through this journey. With all the love of Christ,
-Catelin Harrison and Anthony Welshans

Hi Anjelah,
I have a huge favor to ask. Next Thursday, October 16th is bosses day. Our principal at Canadian High School is a huge fan of yours. It would make his day to get a shout out from you. He is the best boss in the world and I would love to see his face if he were to hear straight from Bon Qui Qui herself. I’m sure it would be his favorite present ever! thanks, Lisa Ayala Canadian High School
Sooooo, my bestfriend Haley’s 16th birthday is coming up and I wanted to take her to one of your shows in Anaheim as her present (since she didn’t have a quinceanera) but apparently you have to be 21 to attend! Do you think if we used your techinique of “passing the ID back” we could get in?! We are DIE HARD fans and would LOVE to see you. You should do a show for all ages so we can be there, in the front row, laughing our little butts off…just sayin’.:) WE LOVE YOU ANJELAH! <3

Hello Anjelah, I’ve always been the kind of person who used to blend in with the background, but all that changed when I discovered comedy. You are my idol. If I were ever to become a comedian I would like to be as good as a comedian as you. My question to you is: What is something that you kept telling yourself that helped motivate you into accomplishing your goal in becoming a comedian?
Thanks so much for your time!;)
Could you come to ft.campbell ky?
We are facing major deployment, and could use some joy up in here:) plz email us details. Thank you for using your gifting…many Blessings!
Hello! Congratulations on being 30! I will be 40 next year and I plan on having a party the whole year! Your family reunion story was funny! I am from a large family too! My granma had 14 kids, and I am 1 of 30 something grandkids and we have kids. I stopped counting a long time ago! I just tell my kids that they better do a background check when they meet someone because we could be related! :o) Good luck to you and when are you coming to Chicago?
Welcome to Minneapolis, Anjelah! This is not so much a question, but a request. What are the chances of this army soldier having a quick chance to meet you and get a awesome picture with you. What else would make a great decoration in my man-cave at home than a picture with my favorite comedian. It would be great if possible. Can’t wait to see yoru show tonight!
Wow , I’m not sure if you are , gay , bi or whatever you are , and “I mean this in the nicest way possible” ,cause I just don’t know how to express this any better , but you are the hottest lil piece I ever seen …Luv you alot … 🙂
Hi Anjelah.
You are very refreshing and funny, and have style. I live in Overland Park, KS. I hope one day you come to KC and do a show. If you have not tasted KC BBQ, I would be honored to take you to one of the best ones here. You and who ever you want to come with you. If not I just hope you come here to make us feel better for a few nights. May God contine to bless you.
Take care,
James.

Hi Anjelah, I just wanted to thank you for coming out to Burque. And to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my daughter so happy. Im the Mom to the little “raider” girl that met you after the show. It made her so happy. I know you got a bunch of tags of her and tweets, shes kinda special here in Burque. She ordered a Sacurrity shirt for me because, yes I am a security officer.. go figure. We support you in every way we can! As soon as she does a video of her stand up I will email you. 12 years old and funny as hell! Your gonna love her! Again, thank you, and you are amazing my friend. God Bless You and Keep Going Strong!
