Happy New Year! This morning I wanted to encourage you, unlock something inside of you and release something great into your life. I asked God what I should say to all of you reading my blog this morning, and this is what I got.
I just want to speak a spirit of confidence and boldness to all the men. I pray that men across this nation would rise up and know their identity, that they would know the strength that they have and they would use it to love, to lead, and to bring about change. I pray that men would lead by example. Even if they didn’t have a man in their life growing up that spoke encouraging words to them, my prayer is that they would be the men in others lives to say “You are strong, you are courageous, you can do it, you are needed, you are loved, you are one of a kind, people look up to you, Don’t be afraid, you are powerful, You are not alone.” I want to encourage all the dreamers out there who have ever thought to themselves, “wouldn’t it be awesome if I could do that” I want to say to you that you can! why not? seriously, why not?? Why not you? Someone has to do it so why not you? Why can’t you be the one to create that, build that, be that, write that, save that, own that? You are the only thing holding you back from taking those steps of faith. Despite what your circumstances say I just want to speak life in to you. God has a plan for you. Not to harm you but to prosper you, to give you hope and a future. To those of you who are scared to dream because you think you don’t deserve it I just want to say to you that is a lie that you have been agreeing with for far to long. You have something great in you that the world is waiting for. You don’t need to have been born with good looks and money and fame. You just need to have a determination to be exactly who God created you to be and nothing less. I want to give you all permission today to believe in yourself. I want to give you all permission to dream the dreams that God has placed in your heart. He created you specifically and uniquely for a purpose. Ask Him today what that is. I’m speaking to myself today too. There are still dreams in my heart that I want to see in real life, not just in my mind. There are times when I doubt myself and what God is doing in me and how He is using me. There are times when I need to remind myself that I can do it! Sometimes I need to remind myself that there is something inside me that the world is waiting for, that the world needs and they are not going to get it if I just sit on my butt and coast by or if I stay locked in a place where the fear of failure paralyzes me. I want to be brave. I want to live at my full potential being exactly who God created me to be.
Happy New year everyone. 2013 here we go!
Hey A, just watched your video on Netflix on a whim and really enjoyed it. You are talented (and have a beautiful smile…I’m just sayin’!). I’ll be telling my family and “home boys” about you’re hilarious sense of humor. I also wanted to comment on your new years statement. I can see that your faith in your
Savior plays a big part in your life which guarantees your success. Fame will want to squash that but don’t let it. Also your expectations of a man is exactly what our creator had in mind, glad your bold enough to remind us…sometimes we need it. May God bless your ministry Anjelah, keep it real and thanks for the laughs… Billy out! (P.S. Dave’s “without”!)
To ms. Johnson-reyes, I hope and pray to see in more movies and hear you in cartoon movies. For your gift is most to see and hear. I look to find you tour landing you in Wash. DC Or northern Virginia. I have followed you with joy and laughter. I look forward to seeing you star in your own box office hit, one that shoots you to the female actress/comedian top leading star. God bless you and your family.
Wow. Like that is what I needed. This year is going to be the year that I am no longer going to sit and let things happen to me. I’m going to happen to them and make a change. All these dreams I have are going into action this year!!
You are awesome! I first found you on netflix and I just finished watching Thats How We Do It for the 3rd time in 2 months. I wish you came to Canada though! You should go on a Canadian tour and come to Ottawa!

Just discovered your comedy on youtube and bought “That’s how we do it.” on I tunes. I too grew up poor and in my elementary class pics I am wearing the same shirt in 3 grades. Your comedy is awesome but I am most impressed by your devotion to God and your religion. Keep the faith and thank you for producing comedy I am not ashamed to listen to by myself or with the whole family.
Just watched your homecoming DVD and it was amazing… I really hope one day I can see you live in Seattle Washington because it would really make my day. Love ya!

Hey Anjelah! OMG i am a HUGE fab like udek! I lovve u! My favorite joke that u have is “i like to to be the ONLY one how uses my toothbrush!”
I am 44 & I have been following worthwhile comedic talent since I was a teen. My top 2 laugh-your-culo-off heroes up until now have been George Carlin (RIP) & Louis C.K. That includes a few 100 comedians along the way..too many too mention. I discovered your “This is how we do it” by accident on Netflix, off a Kevin Pollak, “More like this” link. I was locked in immediately, laughing the whole way through. Plus my ex is a hot, petite, half Columbian/ half Costa Rican..totally my type as a 6′ white boy (JK). Anyway, you are versatile, intelligent, & most of all talented. I’ve been watching all of your material & you have definitely made my top five laugh list. Buena Mierda!
Hey Anjelah! I just want to say that you are such an inspiration to me. Reading your blog, I can see God’s light shining thru u and in everything u do. I’m so glad that we have a minority female, and a Christian representing!!! i am an aspiring music producer/rapper. i make mashups and i am the leader of my youth band at church. we need more ppl like you who are positive inspirations to young ppl, who are too afraid to go after their dreams. or never realize God’s true purpose for their lives. or are just going down the wrong path. you are so funny! and entertaining, and very talented and beautiful. i really admire what u are doing! keep up the good work!!! Also, u neeeed to come to DC!!! i really wanna see u perform live. if u come, i’ll make sure everyone and their grandma is there!!! i love u girl!!! hope to meet u one day.
COME TO OHIO! We would love to see you here.
I first heard about Anjelah from my niece when she told me “You have to see this girl. She looks exactly like Ginger”. Ginger is my daughter, born Dec, 14, 1981, exactly 6 months before Anjelah. Sure enough, side by side they could pass for twins. Many other similarities. Ginger is also part Mexican, part Navajo, Some differences. Ginger has the same voice, gestures, attitude, sense of humor, ability to mimic accents, creativity, and stage presence. Anjelah’s doppelganger. But she’s a klutz. Not athletic, can’t dance a lick. Doesn’t give a rip about sports. She dropped out of Lee Strasburg in 2001 and joined the Marine Corps. Now, after 12 years and four times gone to war, she’s back in Los Angeles going to auditions and trying to figure out what to do next. She Loves Anjelah, and if she ever get the chance, will attend a performance. I’ll go too if I can. Could cause some confusion if she slips up near Anjelah. People will wonder who is who.
Hey:-)
I’m exited that you are coming to bakersfield .
Hi Anjelah,
I know you are a West Coast girl, but come one, you gotta spread the love around on the East Coast! Richmond, VA welcomes you. Would love to see you come to the River City. You have tons of fans here :o)
Hi Anjelah,
I have a question. I have seen you try to eat a tomatoe and from what I can tell (by the way you keep gagging) it makes you physically sick. #1 what is it about them that makes you want to hurl and #2 why are you torturing yourself. There are other vegetables honey just let it go. Just say NO! 🙂 p.s. love your work!
Hey Anjelah,
My fiancé and I will be getting married November 16, 2013, but we are having a Co-Ed Bachelor/ Bachlorette Party and on our itinerary for that weekend your show at Spotlight 29 on November 2nd. See you then

I love you like frfr (not the crazy obessed kind lol) I was really in a dark place and listening to your story and what you do and the music helped me get myself back on track. But i know your not really an artist but i still want to do a song with you if thats possible. I’m 15 so i’m still a young Rapper. But i really want to say thanks for bringing me out my darkness.
J.A.M

We love you! Your impersonations are beyond impressive and you are one of the funniest comedians we have seen. Please make a trip back to Louisiana so we can see you live again!
Just “discovered” you yesterday by accident while channel surfing. You were being interviewed by Mario Lopez on NUVO TV. You made me a follower. I like your material and your also easy on the eyes. I heard your husband’s band play at KLOVE/AIR1s annual banquet in January. My best to both your careers.
Hi Anjelah,
I just want to tell you that I love your comedy! You are hilarious!! You really should to come visit the Midwest. The Chicagoland area is a great place to visit and there many great venues that have welcomed other Latino comics (Carlos Mencia and George Lopez) with much success. There are many locations in the city of Chicago, but many of us live in the suburbs and we’d love to see you a little closer to home. Some places that I would recommend are the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, IL and the Rialto Theatre in Joliet, IL. Please come, we’d love to see you live!
Church Girl you got it goin’ on. Wonderful to get creative inspiration with laughs. Jesus be with you as you keep on the road. Would love to see you in person, but we love you on your site and youtube. Watched your Homecoming tour on TV-It is rel’. Love from us, B

PREACH IT GIRL! I enjoyed your New Year’s prayer and I stand with you in agreement. Knowing who you are in Christ is key in how we will respond to life’s challenges. Our self-identity will either make us or break us…I pray that every person will know the love and redemptive power of Jesus in their lives. My prayer for you Anjelah….may God establish you in His word and will. That every crooked path be made straight…everything that you touch prosper for His honor and glory. I pray for boldness to overcome you as you use this platform to be a vessel of honor unto God. Go forth with courage and in the knowledge of His word…you are more than a conqueror and overcomer in this life. Be blessed and blessings to your parents who have raised you to reverence the Lord! Come to San Antonio!

I saw you for the first time on Sunday in Houston. You are very funny, but I have to say we were all disappointed that you did not do the “nail salon” part of your show. There were a lot of first timers there and we were looking forward to it and were very disappointed.
I just discovered you I love the humor, you were in a club and did a shout out to the audience after explaining you mixed blood. You should have done a shout out to us natives as well and listened to the silence then the sound of crickets….except for all theose damn ghostly looking ‘part Cherokee’ folks applauding, the silence could have been awesome.
Much love to you from the Rez up here in Northern Minnesota.
